Google review management pilot
Thoughtful review replies, with a human still in control
Chippy Mate is a pilot review-management product developed and operated by Think Menai Ltd for Allports Fish & Chips.
It is designed to bring Google Business Profile reviews into one secure workspace, prepare helpful draft replies and keep publication subject to clear policy and human approval. This application slice now sits within the wider FryerMate product and its specialist shop-operations proposition.
- Secure OAuth access
- Human approval
- Auditable actions
Current pilot status
The product is built for a real operator and is awaiting Google access.
- 01Named business use case
The initial pilot is for Allports Fish & Chips, with Think Menai responsible for development and operation.
- 02Google approval required
Live Google Business Profile import and reply publication remain unavailable until Google approves the project for Business Profile API access.
- 03No automatic publication by default
Drafts can be prepared, but a person remains responsible for approving public replies.
Intended workflow
Make the everyday review queue clearer and safer
Chippy Mate is intended to reduce repetitive review administration without removing responsibility from the business. It uses approved Google OAuth access and never asks a user to share their Google password.
Lower-rated, sensitive or uncertain reviews can be held for attention instead of being treated like routine positive feedback.
- 01
Connect an authorised profile
An owner or manager grants only the Google permissions required for the review-management workflow.
- 02
Import and organise reviews
Public review text, ratings, timestamps and existing owner replies are brought into a focused work queue.
- 03
Prepare a policy-led draft
AI can classify the review and suggest a response using business context and defined escalation rules.
- 04
Review, publish and audit
An authorised person approves the response, with the decision and resulting action recorded for accountability.
Data and controls
Proportionate access with visible responsibility
The pilot is limited to review-management data and the operational information needed to prepare an appropriate response.
Public review and profile details
Reviewer display name, review text, rating, timestamps, profile links, existing owner replies and administrator actions.
Drafting and classification support
Review content and relevant business context may be processed by OpenAI to prepare drafts and identify priority. It is not used to train Think Menai models.
Think Menai Ltd
Think Menai operates the pilot, supports authorised users and provides routes for access, correction, export and deletion enquiries.
Direct answers
Chippy Mate questions
Clear boundaries matter when software is acting close to a public business profile.
Is Chippy Mate affiliated with Google?
No. Chippy Mate is a Think Menai product. Google Business Profile and Google are trademarks of Google LLC.
Can Chippy Mate access a profile without permission?
No. An authorised Google Business Profile owner or manager must grant access through Google's OAuth process and may revoke that access.
Does AI publish replies automatically?
Not by default. The pilot is designed around draft preparation, escalation rules and approval by an authorised person before publication.
How can someone ask about their data?
Email hello@thinkmenai.com or use the Think Menai contact page. The wider handling of personal data is explained in the privacy notice.
